Do you feel scared or nervous when it’s time to go to the dentist? Well, you’re certainly not alone. Dental anxiety is a common, legitimate affliction among many children and adults in the United States.
While our advanced dental technology has improved the quality of every procedure, we still take dental anxiety seriously. That’s why we offer a wide range of sedation dentistry options to all our patients. Sedation dentistry can help you feel safe and secure during any procedure at our office.
Our primary method of sedation is laughing gas. Laughing gas can be administered during a variety of procedures through a face mask. This sedation method is highly effective at helping you enjoy painless serenity during your appointment.
The effects of the gas wear off soon after you remove the mask, so you can safely drive yourself home.
With oral sedation, you can come to your appointment with the effects of sedation already starting to kick in. We’ll prescribe you a pill that you’ll take orally prior to your appointment, so you can feel rested and relaxed from the moment you walk in our door.
You will require a ride home for safety reasons, but this option can give you the soothing comfort you need to get through your procedure.
IV-administered general anesthetic is available to patients undergoing surgical procedures or who would simply prefer an added layer of sedation to help with stress. All anesthesia is carefully administered and monitored by our well-trained staff.
Be sure to arrange for transportation home after your procedure.
Your oral health is vital to your general happiness and well-being; don’t let dental anxiety prevent you from getting the quality care you need and deserve! Call or visit our office to learn more about the sedation options available to you at Beyond Smiles Family Dental and Orthodontics.
